Roger Cramer is a transactional lawyer with over 30 years of experience in the music industry. He provides legal services to a wide variety of clients including recording artists, songwriters, producers, record labels, publishing companies, composers, actors, filmmakers as well as to a variety of small businesses.
Roger has been in music business since he was 17 years old, starting as a DJ on college radio stations in his home town of Cleveland, then promoting concerts during his time at the University of Michigan (B.A. 1981). For over 15 years, during and after graduating from Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1987), Roger managed artists, including Living Colour (2 time Grammy winner and best known for their smash “Cult of Personality”), Ronald Shannon Jackson, Lisa Loeb, The The, Wu Tang Clan, Wayne Shorter, Ween, Sonic Youth, Soul Coughing, Citizen Cope and others.
In 2000, Roger joined the law firm of Selverne, Mandelbaum & Mintz. Following the dissolution of SMM in 2008, Roger became of counsel to the firm Selverne & Company before joining WSMB. As an attorney, Roger has had the pleasure and challenge of working with top artists, including Robert Glasper, Yeat, Scissor Sisters, $NOT, Ludacris, Nelly, Fat Joe, Wu Tang Clan and Freddie Gibbs. He has also handled business and legal affairs for Songs Music Publishing, OWSLA, Guin and Round Hill Music.
