In the litigation arena, WSMB defends companies and their employees in federal and state courts from claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract and other employment-related matters, from inception through trial and appeal. We also defend against discrimination claims filed with federal and state agencies. We employ targeted defense strategies with an eye toward enhancing our clients’ litigation posture and minimizing business disruption.
WSMB also represents senior employees in employment terminations, employment contract disputes, bonus disputes, and other related actions.
On the transactional side, our attorneys draft employment and severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, equity vesting arrangements, restrictive covenants, incentive equity plans and contracts, corporate policies, employee handbooks and communications to employees. We also provide guidance on employment issues attendant to corporate transactions, including in connection with equity financings and M&A deals.
In addition, WSMB provides day-to-day guidance to in-house counsel, human resources professionals and managers on issues such as hiring, termination, leave and accommodation requests, reductions in force, disciplinary matters, performance management and investigating employee complaints.
